Well, finally I have my new pattern ready for sale. This one is called “Sunday Apron”. It’s based on the idea that when I have my good clothes on and have to get right into the kitchen I know I will be covered. The bib rides a little higher on the neck and covers from arm to arm. It’s like most of my aprons as it’s easy, quick and reversible. Just make a few marks, take a few tucks and sew a little and abbra-ca-dabra you have a reversible apron that has some style and class. Who says an apron has to be frumpy anyway?

Little Sunday Apron
Here’s a sneak peek at my latest apron pattern. Because it’s cute and pretty I thought of the name Little Sunday Apron. When I was little my mother always made us wear our best clothes on Sunday and always a new clean apron if we had kitchen duty. I hope to have the patterns available by Sunday. (no pun intended) my little model won’t be available until Saturday. When I get her all dressed up, I’ll put her photo on my blog, if her mommy says it’s okay. I have two grown boys and know nothing about little girls. When I finished this little cutie, made my first thought was, I need a grand-daughter, but please boys, get married first.

My Mom’s Favorite Apron
I just keep making these cute and comfy aprons. This is the one that was sent to Keepsake Quilting for review for entry into their catalog. I guess we have to start somewhere. Wish me luck.
This last summer I was at our local market and writing a check for a few boxes of pears when the vendor saw my name on my check she got really excited. I thought that maybe I was in trouble but she was so happy with her apron pattern she proceeded to tell me that she made each of her female family members an apron. I think she said 5. Wow! That was crazy. Then…last week a local bookstore that sells odds and ends called and asked if she can make the aprons and sell them in her store. It’s contagious. YEAH!
I know you would love this pattern. Even if you haven’t sewn much before, you can make this one. You might even want to start with the 2 Hour Apron. Much easier but not as cute or unique.
I have some great Amy Butler fabric that’s going to be my next apron. I may just keep that one.

I still get lost in my Blog….it’s like being in a fog> Hey, I wonder if that’s where the blog name came from. You’re in this deep fog until something clicks and your finally figure out how to manage this. I truly envy all the young people who pick this kind of stuff up in a heartbeat. Us oldies….well though wiser is some ways, have difficulty with this sort of think.
I was recently ask how you purchase my patterns. Weird, that I didn’t think to put that minor (I mean MAJOR) point on the blog. So.. to set things straight, here it is…….You can go to my website at www.sewsimplepatterns.com and order away. It’s secure as I chose to use PayPal.
In fact I’ve been busy developing a pattern for a pouch. The thought came to me when I was grocery shopping and noticed the store overly crowded. Then it came to me that this is the Christmas season and many women get their purses stolen from the carts and then I was obsessed with watching my “designer” bag (I am such a sucker for Louis’s) that I didn’t purchase half the things I needed. Needless to say I carried my bag around the store, tossing it from shoulder to shoulder, ticked off that it was so heavy and then my light bulb went off and I realized that all I really needed was by checkbook-debit card-Safeway card or and a tube of lipstick. So I got busy here at home in my sewing studio and came up with this pouch that slips over your shoulder and rests flat on your hip and doesn’t weigh anything at all.
I took my prototype for it’s first outing and I was pleased. I didn’t have to obsess about watching my purse and yet I had everything I need for that trip right there with me and no weight add to my body. I even had more room in the cart, without my purse, so I could buy more.
Here are the photos of my little pouch–which by the way I made 3 sizes…. Now I gotta go…..Because I “bought more” I’m now obliged to make cookies for my handsome hubby.
